The Foresthill Bridge

I love the perspective in two of these shots - the top one makes the bridge look like it goes on forever!

It is always incongruous to have man-made things in the midst of nature - it's the straight lines that do it, but I think the curves help it to fit in more.

Michele sent me to say hi.

I enlarged these photos and found myself staring....trying to soak in the enormity of this structure. I like the fact that there is green on those hillsides as well. These winter weary eyes are longing for the lushness of green flora.

Your shot of the sign is interesting. I wonder if it has ever worked?

It's funny, because I looked at that bridge and thought, "There's no barriers, and it's so secluded. I bet a lot of people jump." Then I saw that last picture. I wonder if it saves many lives.
That is a big, scary looking bridge there.

These are great Mike. Amazing eye you have. Love the lines as usual and the greens are wonderful! The first one is my favorite. Reminds me of when I used to go bungee jumping! IT SURE IS A LONG WAY DOWN!

Take care.

I've always loved bridge pictures. It amazes me that so many of these leviathans were built generations before computers and automation. I wish more of us took the time to appreciate them instead of whizzing over them at 65 mph. I'm so glad you did.

The last one is especially poignant. I wonder if it's saved any lives. Sure hope so.

That's a very tall bridge! Does that phone work? I can't imagine it does. Does the bridge cross water anywhere? I can't tell from the pics. Michele sent me, Mike. Sorry to be so curious!

Thoughts:
- lotsa comments!
- cool structure subject-
- Wonder what the name of this gorge is?
- Reminds me of the train bridge in Back To The Future III...
- I built a little bridge out of only toothpicks n Elmers glue able to hold up a heavy brick for an A in 3D design 101 circa '91.
- Precarious, the pics make it appear ominous!
- if you really had to jump, that one would do it!
- we have Samaritan signs n guard-bar fences up on the Bourne n Sagamore bridges over the canal because of the jumper issue.

Oh yeah, Good Job!
